VOIP - Are we there yet?

The following is a collection of VOIP atricles and vendors.

Opinion: Generally large companies which have invested in data channels may find moving intra-branch voice to the data network advantageous. This is seen most for 800 number presence and call centers. Mid Size to Small companies which depend on third party provisioning for Internet and Data requirements will need to coordinate all partners to the level of service required and likely need investments in network (LAN and wide area (WAN) equipment and services such as VOIP PBX replacements. The major savings generally in toll and long distance users savings pitted against data service upgrades. For Small Business the same issues, and toll and long distance savings justifcation. However if the data lines are provided by the phone company (DSL) then the phone providers may soon have solutions rolled out that will benefit small business and suggesting better to wait for more options before adapting.  -tli
